• Previously served 8 years as a Member of Durham City Council in Durham, NC

• Previously served 2 years as Chairman of Durham’s City Council’s Public Works Committee

• Previously served 6 years as Chairman of Durham’s City Council’s Taxi Cab Sub-Committee

• Previously served 4 years as Chairman of Durham’s City Council’s Legislative Committee

• Former Chairman of the Durham Joint City-County Planning Committee

• Served 8 years as a Member of City Council’s Legislative Committee and 4 years as Chairman, where he worked with members of our General Assembly Delegation in promoting Durham’s Legislative Agenda.

• Previously served 8 years as a Member of the Triangle J Council of Governments and was elected Chairman of the Board for 2001-2002, where he worked with and represented local elected officials from Durham, Orange, Chatham, Moore, Lee, Wake and Johnston counties.
